Message But if you size your tires properly, it doesn't matter whether you get 16" wheels or 18" wheels. You get "thinner" tires for bigger wheels, so the overall diameter is the same. The gap between your tires and the fenders should also be roughly the same.

It's the middle number in the tire size, or the "series." The number is the aspect ratio, and basically, the bigger the number, the taller the tire. There are calculators on the web so you can get larger wheels but size your tires so that your gearing, speedometer, and ride height aren't affected.
